Reconstruction

The OED seems to reconstruct Old English *lǣs as from Proto-Germanic *lēs(s)iz, < as from *lētaną + *-þiz. But considering the forms with -w-, I instead reconstruct this as a derivation in *-þwō, with dental clusters resolving to -s(s)-, similar to *rēswō. Anglom (talk) 00:35, 2 March 2015 (UTC)Reply
