Criticism of a boxer?[edit]

What's a choker in the context of this headline:

The article only uses the term once, and it doesn't explain anything:

TYSON FURY readily admits critics can be as disparaging as they want about his physique and ability but you can never call him a loser or a choker.

Can anyone improve the entry by adding this meaning of the word? Thanks. Gronky (talk) 08:54, 25 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

I was going to add "timid and nervous, as if being controlled by a choke chain". SemperBlotto (talk) 09:01, 25 August 2013 (UTC)Reply
I based it on the verb sense at choke — I suppose it's from the idea of suddenly weakening and dying...? I also found this: [1] Equinox 09:04, 25 August 2013 (UTC)Reply
Isn't this the common US sports sense (I've been watching Major League Baseball for 16 years now) one who chokes, one who wilts under pressure. Mglovesfun (talk) 09:45, 25 August 2013 (UTC)Reply
