Garfield[edit]

A running gag in the early Garfield strips was Jon starting the strip with, "Now, I wouldn't say you're fat, but..." and ending with a pun. One strip from the 1980s was "Now, I wouldn't say you're fat, but .... you have more chins than a Hong Kong telephone directory!" That shows this expression can take on a variety of forms, so long as the chin/Chin pun is implied. Soap 10:29, 22 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
