I think some of these colours are just poorly labelled. The most "purple" colour to me is the middle one from "violet; indigo", and not any of the three from "magenta; purple" (which contain too much red or too little blue). Similarly if I had to choose one "pink" it would probably be the hot pink from the middle of "magenta", and not the anaemic one under "pink". Equinox 21:10, 12 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

The one currently labelled "violet" I'd be inclined to call "lilac", because it seems too pale to be "violet" for me.... (And even after checking images online related to "violet" and "lilac".) I'd say "violet" is rather somewhere from "purple" to "indigo".
Probably lots online on confusion about colours:
"Typically, indigo is described as being about halfway between blue and violet.
Most people seem to agree that indigo is closer to a deep or dark blue than it is a more purple or violet color, but there's still debate even about this!"
