Compound of arbete (“work”) + -s- + säljare (“seller”). First attested in 1891.[1]
Created as a counter-word towards arbetstagare (“employee”), compound of arbete (“work”) + -s- + tagare (“taker”). Analog with arbetsköpare (“employer”).
