Noun[edit]

camera shake (uncountable)

  1. (photography) The involuntary movement of a camera at the time of exposure (when the shutter is activated), leading to blurring of the picture.
    • 1950 December, Canon Eric Treacy, “Railway Photography”, in Railway Magazine, page 796:
The camera must be held quite still when the exposure is being made; by far the most common reason for unsatisfactory results is camera-shake at the moment of exposure.
