Borrowed from Ancient Greek δίγλωττις (díglōttis, two-tongued), from δίς (dís, twice) and γλωττίς (glōttís), from γλῶττα (glôtta), secondary form of γλῶσσα (glôssa, tongue, language). di- +‎ -glot.
