  1. (transitive, Christianity) to confirm (to administer (the sacrament or ritual (depending on denomination) of) confirmation on (someone))

    He was buried by the very priest who had confirmed him.
  2. (reflexive, passive voice or mediopassive, Christianity) to affirm the covenant of one's baptism
