From mashkode (“prairie”) + bizhiki (“buffalo”).

mashkodebizhiki (plural mashkodebizhikiwag, diminutive mashkodebizhikiins, Syllabics: ᒪᔥᑯᑌᐱᔑᑭ)
Usage notes[edit]
- Before the arrival of European cattle, bizhiki was the term used for buffalo, yet now refers mainly to cows, with the qualifier mashkode (prairie) specifying buffalo.
