From Polish nekrolog, Russian некроло́г (nekrológ), Hungarian nekrológ, from German Nekrolog, borrowed from French nécrologie (obituary; necrology), ultimately from the Ancient Greek roots νεκρός (nekrós, dead) + -λογία (-logía, -logy). Compare Lithuanian nekrologas, Romanian necrolog.
