From Ottoman Turkish سیر (sayr), from Arabic سَيْر (sayr).[1]

seyir (definite accusative seyri, plural seyirler)
- The way something is going; its course, run.
- hayatın normal seyri ― the normal course of life
- (of vehicles) Movement on a route; progress.
- seyir halindeki araçlar ― vehicles on the move
- The act of watching something for entertainment or education.
- Synonym: (dated) temaşa
- İyi seyirler! ― Enjoy the show! (literally, “Have a good watch!”)
- (archaic) Something to be watched for entertainment.
