From Vulgar Latin *saettare (“to shoot arrows”), from Latin sagittāre.[1]

- (third person, mythology) a fate (zanë or orë punishes, petrifies or paralyzes a person when they cause them disturbance
- Të shitoftë zana! ― May the fate kill you! (optative, curse)
- (regional) to strike, smite, hit, afflict, wound
- (regional, figurative) to injure, shoot to death
- (intransitive, figurative) to get enraged, mad
