Compare Buryat зүүн (züün, left; east) & Khamnigan Mongol дзүүн (dzüün, left; east); Classical Mongolian ᠵᠡᠭᠦᠨ (ǰegün) & its descendant Mongolian зүүн (züün, left; east); Written Oirat ᠴᡈᡉᠨ (zöün) & its descendant Kalmyk зүн (zün, left; east); also Tuvan borrowed чөөн (çöön, east; [politically] left). Compare also Evenki дегин (ʒegin, left).
