Etymology[edit]
From Proto-Mordvinic [Term?], possibly from Proto-Finno-Permic *teškä (“something protruding: top, beard, head of corn, plant, shrub”), in which case cognate with Finnish tähkä (“ear”), Komi-Permyak тош (toš), Udmurt туш (tuš).
