अंतर्राष्ट्रीय (antarrāṣṭrīya) (indeclinable)

  2. (literal) within a nation

Usage notes

[edit]

The adjective "अंतर्राष्ट्रीय (antarrāṣṭrīya)" has in its prefix "अंतर् (antar)", denoting "within" something. Thus, it should be literally used to qualify something "within or inside a nation". However, either in colloquial sense or due to multiple meanings of the prefix "अंतर् (antar)", it is nonetheless commonly used to mean "international". However, it is better to use the adjective "अंतरराष्ट्रीय (antarrāṣṭrīya)" for that purpose.
