Etymology[edit]

From ọ̀- +‎ kẹ́rẹ́gbà. Many forms of the word exist in various subdialects of Ekiti, where /r/ and /l/ interchange and where ɛ becomes ɪ. Some dialects also drop the preceding vowels. See forms ọ̀kírígbà, kílígbà, ọ̀kílígbà.
