First attested in the Yongbi eocheon'ga (龍飛御天歌 / 용비어천가), 1447, as Middle Korean 싸호〮다〮 (Yale: ssàhwó-tá).

  1. (intransitive) to fight or struggle
    그런데 싸울 "당신"이라고 부르면 나쁜되기 해요.
    Geureonde ssaulttae dangsinirago bureumyeon nappeunmari doegi-do haeyo.
    But if you call (me) 당신 (dangsin, you) when fighting, it can also become a bad word.
