[edit]-ითი • (-iti)
- Derives adjectives from nouns and verbal nouns. It serves as adjectival suffix signifying relating or belonging to, of the nature of, tending to, serving to or serving as something: -ive, -al. It sometimes uses -ობა (-oba) as a precedent suffix to achieve that.
- წერა (c̣era, “writing, to write”) + -ითი (-iti) → წერითი (c̣eriti, “written”)
- წერითი გამოცდა საკმაოდ რთული იყო
- c̣eriti gamocda saḳmaod rtuli iq̇o
- written exam was quite difficult
- არსება (arseba, “creature”) + -ითი (-iti) → არსებითი (arsebiti, “substantial, essential, significant”)
- ეს არსებით პრობლემას წარმოადგენს
- es arsebit ṗroblemas c̣armoadgens
- This represents a substantial problem
- კვლევა (ḳvleva, “researching, to research”) + -ითი (-iti) → კვლევითი (ḳvleviti, “research-based, research-related”)
- ეს კვლევითი ინსტიტუტი დიდი გავლენით სარგებლობს
- es ḳvleviti insṭiṭuṭi didi gavlenit sargeblobs
- This research-[conducting] institute enjoys widespread influence
- მიცემა (micema, “giving, to give”) + -ითი (-iti) → მიცემითი (micemiti, “dative”)
- ქართულ ენაში ასევე გვხვდება მიცემითი ბრუნვა
- kartul enaši aseve gvxvdeba micemiti brunva
- Dative case is also found in Georgian language

[edit]- If suffixed to stems ending with a vowel, that vowel tends to be erased.
