Symbol

[edit]

DHO

  1. (inorganic chemistry) A molecule of semi-heavy water, comprising one deuterium and one protium type of hydrogen atoms with an oxygen atom

Usage notes

[edit]

Deuterium should be called by the chemical symbol "2H", not "D".[1] It follows that semi-heavy water should be called "2H1HO" or "1H2HO" not "DHO".
