Developed by Leslie George Frise (1897–1979) of the Bristol Aeroplane Company.

Frise aileron (plural Frise ailerons)

  1. (aviation) A kind of aileron that pivots on an offset hinge when pressure is applied to the control wheel or control stick, so as to project the leading edge of the aileron into the airflow and generate drag.
