Finnish
[edit]Etymology
[edit]Humppi + -la. Theories include derivation from an Old Swedish name Humpe, from vernacular forms of the Germanic name evident in German Humbert, from dialectal humppa (“crazy, senile”) (of sound-symbolic origin[1]) or from dialectal humppi (“small patch of arable land”).[2]
