"To steal from a premises" lacks the elements of unlawful entry and the fact that no theft need be committed, just an intent to commit theft. Harry Fenton 18:37, 23 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Boiled wheat.[edit]

I am wondering whether there is enough evidence for a noun entry. There are two senses: one is a rare synonym of burglary, ... the other is a much older word, possibly Scottish, meaning boiled wheat, but even the OED doesn't record it! Dbfirs 13:23, 8 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

chiefly Britain etc.[edit]

The early quotes strongly suggest that the word actually arose in America. So has it died out there? Or has it remained colloquial/humorous? 90.186.72.208 17:11, 21 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
