I don't think so. Do you have an example? Widsith 15:03, 11 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hunks in AmigaOS

[edit]

Probably too obscure and specific for us, but see Amiga Hunk: on the Amiga series of computers, "hunks" are structured portions of an executable file that contain the code or data. Equinox 07:30, 21 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

Origin of "hunk"

[edit]

Hunkah was probably the largest group of Osage indians. They were well known to be unusually tall. Their presence was known from the french time in the 1600-hundreds when french traders roamed the mid west. They dominated the area areas west of Missouri river to the great plains. There are numerous well documented descriptions of Hunkah being well over 80" tall. Being named a "hunk" seems fitting to a member of the Hunkah Osage group. Digging for vague etymology in Dutch or German 200 years later seems far fetched. 2001:8A0:7762:6D00:CC3B:FFA6:EBB3:F48D 09:19, 11 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
