@Ungoliant MMDCCLXIV, PUC Are the Portuguese and French translations in use as formulas or are they just word-for-word translations that are never used? ←₰-→ Lingo ^Bingo _Dingo (talk) 17:28, 2 September 2020 (UTC)

All durably archived instances I can find use the phrase literally, and all in a religious rather than leftist context (“rest in the power of God/Jehova/etc”). On regular Google there are several uses of “descanse no poder” and “descanse em poder” as translations of English (mostly in reference to celebrities’ tweets and comments about Chadwick Boseman) and only a few that seem to be spontaneous Portuguese usage. — Ungoliant ^(falai) 14:00, 3 September 2020 (UTC)

@Lingo Bingo Dingo: I had never heard or read "repose en puissance" until now. The only hits I see seem to be calques from the English; I don't think it has any real currency. PUC – 10:33, 5 September 2020 (UTC)
