I wouldn't expect dolphins and whales to be classed as seafood, although technically I suppose they are. The Language Learner (talk) 08:37, 5 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

Current definition seems to cover anything that originates in the sea. We do not usually eat whales and dolphins but that's more a cultural thing. Chambers says "food got from the sea, especially shellfish". Equinox 08:56, 5 September 2019 (UTC)Reply
Also, jellyfish, sea cucumbers, sea turtles, etc. Don't be so Western. DCDuring (talk) 09:09, 5 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

Confusing. Maybe needs usage notes. – Jberkel 18:56, 2 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

This was added by an IP who is apparently obsessed with the taxonomy of what ocean life humans eat. I've restored the definition to what it was before July 2021. Ultimateria (talk) 00:58, 17 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
