Use this template to display the abbreviation B.C.E. (before the Common Era). The template links to an explanation of the term at Appendix:Glossary.

There is a gadget that will turn this template and {{C.E.}} into the B.C./A.D. format.

The template takes one optional parameter:

|nodots= – use |nodots=1 or |nodots=yes to display BCE (the abbreviation without full stops or periods). Alternatively, use the template {{BCE}}.
