From Ancient Greek αἰωνιολογία (aiōniología, “the study of aeons”), from αἰώνιος (aiṓnios, “eternal, everlasting, endless”) from αἰῶν (aiôn, “lifetime, lifespan, aeon, epoch”) + λόγος (lógos, “speech, oration, study”). By surface analysis, aeon +‎ -logy.
