Inherited from Sanskrit अपराध (aparādha). Cognate with Ashokan Prakrit 𑀅𑀧𑀭𑀥 (aparadha, Girnar), 𑀅𑀧𑀮𑀸𑀥 (apalādha, Kalsi, Dhauli), 𐨀𐨤𐨪𐨢 (aparadha, Shahbazgarhi).
