Etymology

Inherited from Ottoman Turkish طولمق (dolamak), طولامق (dolamak, to twist, wind round about a thing), from Proto-Turkic *dolga- (to twist, to wrap round).[1]

  1. (transitive) to wind, wrap, wrap around
  2. (transitive) to twist, whirl, reel, rotate
