Etymology[edit]

ong +‎ khoái; the second element is from Proto-Vietic *kweːʔ, borrowed from a Sino-Tibetan language. Cognate with Chut [Rục] kwiː³, Chepang क्‍वाय्, Drung kua, Manipuri ꯈꯣꯏ (khoʼi) (the latter three inherited from a common ST root). The initial velar shows irregular aspiration.
