From the bound morpheme ot- (October) (which was later superseded in New Volapük by the bound morpheme tob-) + -ul (month), a bound morpheme (functioning as a suffix) derived from the free morpheme mul (month); from either English October or German Oktober, and ultimately from Latin octōber.
