Etymology[edit]
From Late Latin rotella (“little wheel”). Cognate with Portuguese rodela and Spanish rodilla.

- wheel or crown made of cloth or straw which is used as a cushion in between the head and a load
- a cushion used to protect the head and neck of oxen when joked
