Etymology

Cognate with ཞིམ་བུ (zhim bu) and ཞུམ་བུ (zhum bu), all possibly from earlier *ryi-mi.[1] If true, then perhaps of Sino-Tibetan origin and cognate with Old Chinese (OC *rɯ)[1] (see there for further etymology).
