Etymology[edit]
Inherited from Ancient Greek δηλαδή (dēladḗ),[1] from phrase δῆλά δη (dêlá dē),[2] consisting of δῆλᾰ (dêla), neuter plural of δῆλος (dêlos, “visible, manifest”) + δή (dí, “truly, exactly”).
