Inherited from Middle Bengali তে (te). Cognate with Hindi तौन (taun). Doublet of তিনি (tini).

  • This word is not found in modern Bengali but is frequently used as a component of some modern adjectives and adverbs, such as তেমন (temon) (similar to তা in তার, তারা). Overwhelmingly replaced by সে (śe).
