There has been a longstanding controversy over the meanings of 𐌇𐌖𐌈 (huθ) and 𐌑𐌀 (śa). Based on linguistic and archaeological evidence, 𐌇𐌖𐌈 has traditionally been assigned as the numeral 4 and 𐌑𐌀 as 6. However, some scholars assign 𐌇𐌖𐌈 as 6 and 𐌑𐌀 as 4 to resolve the pattern of the Dice of Toscanella with other Etruscan dice.
