Etymology

Formed in Armenian as -ով (-ov) +‎ -ք (-kʻ). Alternatively, inherited from Proto-Indo-European instrumental plural ending of athematic stems *-bʰis and cognate with Sanskrit -भिस् (-bhis), Old Irish dative plural -ib.

-ովք • (-ovkʻ)

1. the plural instrumental case ending of o-stem nouns

   գայլովք ― gaylovkʻ ― instrumental plural of գայլ (gayl)
