In her book about her husband, "Chuckin" Charlie Conerly, Mrs. Conerly said the New York sports writers misunderstood Charlie's word "chunk" (to throw) as "chuck". They popularized the new meaning for the word "chuck", when in fact Charlie used the word "chunk". As a boy growing up in Texas my friends and I used to chunk rocks and chunk footballs, so it bothers me that the word "chuck" is still misused in place of "chunk". — This unsigned comment was added by 76.74.8.106 (talk) at 12:36, 28 October 2008‎.
