Pronunciations

[edit]

I expanded the pronunciation section; on Youglish, where the results for this word include many talks being given by art historians or artists, a four-syllable pronunciation with a vowel between the /l/ and /(j)oʊ/ is by far the most common, e.g. youtu.be/-ijR0PnRDAc ~14:50, youtu.be/ZvgWC-XSuoA ~6:00, youtu.be/O_weOwnK2TQ 1:40 and most of the other Youglish examples (Collins has /ɪnˈtɑːlɪˌəʊ/ as a UK option), and next most common are the spelling pronunciations /ɪnˈtæɡ.li.oʊ/ youtu.be/RskPsram5R0 13:38 and /ɪnˈtɑɡ.li.oʊ/ youtu.be/IqsUN_E05a4 4:00 (more examples of both include youtu.be/mU3Ac3BPbiM ~14:20, youtu.be/gAjk8efPNFM ~36:30 youtu.be/_ILvBfFPeCM 34:00). The rarest is the /-l.j-/ pronunciation we had listed as the only pronunciation (youtu.be/7PA0T4_KYC0 2:06). - -sche (discuss) 05:12, 18 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
