Could you tell me the time?

Usage notes

[edit]

Zeit means "time" as a concept whereas Uhrzeit means "time" as in a 'specific time of day'. However, you will often find like most words in German, Zeit can also frequently signify "time" as in 'specific time of day' because of how common shortened clippings are in German.
