From Andalusian Arabic الفُنْدَق (al-fúndaq), from Arabic فُنْدُق (funduq, inn, hotel), from Ancient Greek πανδοκεῖον (pandokeîon, inn). Cognate to Catalan alfòndec and Portuguese alfândega.
