Etymology

Inherited from Latin cōnsilium (compare Occitan conselh, French conseil, Spanish consejo). Possibly confused with or influenced by Latin concilium (council) (whence Catalan concili was borrowed), although cōnsilium also had the sense of "council", "consultative assembly" or "advisory body".[1]
