contraluz m or f same meaning (plural contraluces)

1. backlight; a view from the opposite side of the direction toward which a light source shines
2. a photograph taken from such a view

Usage notes

• Both senses are usually masculine, but the first sense may also be feminine, and this is sometimes considered the prescriptively correct gender.
