Borrowed from Javanese ꦊꦩꦫꦶ (lemari, cupboard; wardrobe), from Portuguese armário (cupboard), from Latin armārium. Cognate of Malay almari, lemari, Classical Malay الماري (almari), لماري (lemari). Doublet of almari.
