Etymology[edit]
From Ottoman Turkish صحنه (sahne, “scene, stage”), an Ottoman coinage using صحن (sahn) + ـه (-e), the first part being derived from Arabic صَحْن (ṣaḥn). By surface analysis, səhn + -ə.
