Mid 19th century New Latin, from telo- +‎ angiectasia, reflecting Ancient Greek τέλος (télos, end, telo-) +‎ Ancient Greek ἀγγεῖον (angeîon, vessel, angio-) +‎ Ancient Greek ἔκτασις (éktasis, stretching out, extension) +‎ Latin -ia.
