Etymology
According to Beekes, this word along with θαῦμα (thaûma, “wonder, marvel”), θώψ (thṓps, “flatterer, false friend”), τάφος (táphos, “amazement”) and τέθητα (téthēta, “to be astonished”) forms a Lua error in Module:parameters at line 360: Parameter 2 should be a valid language, etymology language or family code; the value "pregrc" is not valid. See WT:LOL, WT:LOL/E and WT:LOF. group. This group is further isolated and thus not related to Middle English dabben (“to strike”).
