Bashkir

Һырға.

Etymology

The archetype *sïrğa ~ *ïsïrğa "earring" can be reconstructed, no consensus exists on the derivation of which. Also, its relationship is unclear with Old East Slavic серьга (serĭga) (whether one was derived from the other, or both were borrowed from a third source), whence Russian серьга́ (serʹgá, earring).

Cognate with Kazakh сырға (syrğa), Siberian Tatar сырға (sırğa, earring), (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Tatar, (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Kyrgyz, (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Southern Altai, (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Tuvan сырга (syrga), (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Crimean Tatar sırğa, Uzbek isirgʻa, Turkmen ysyrga, Khakas ызырға (ızırğa), Yakut ытарҕа (ıtarğa, earring), etc.
