Probably of the same (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Proto-Indo-European origin as մեղ (meł).

  1. (intransitive) to become mad, to lose one's senses; to be in a passion, enraged; to be extravagantly fond of, to fall violently in love with, to be passionately in love
    մոլել զհետmolel zhetto bend one's whole soul to, to apply oneself entirely to, to dote upon, to be distracted with
    մոլիս, Պա՛ւղէmolis, PáwłēPaul, thou art beside thyself
  2. (intransitive) to divine, to prophesy (referring to the ecstatic fury of the sorcerer or the prophet)
