Old Armenian
Etymology
Borrowed from the Hurro-Urartian source underlying Akkadian 𒉡𒍑𒄷 (nu-uš-ḫu /nušḫu/, “probably almond”), wherein -ḫu reflects a Hurrian suffix also seen in Akkadian 𒌑𒀭𒈾𒉌𒄷 (/ananīḫu/), Old Armenian անանուխ (ananux).[1][2]
Noun
նուշ • (nuš)
- almond (nut)
- դառն նուշ ― daṙn nuš ― acorn
